As of July 31st, 2025, we are still waiting for the next phase of the Toyota Battery Manufacturing NC (TBMNC) project to be announced. 

If you are a JIW and have previously worked through our hall for Slifco, and you were laid off, feel free to come in to sign our books. If 342 is your home local, your initial sign can be done via email to Dan (dan@ibew342.org). Please include: name, date, card number, and "book 1 sign" in the email. If you are a traveler and would like to get on our books, have your hall fax us a travel letter and make sure you are registered with LU 342 on UnionWorx. See below for more information.

If you are a CW/CE and have previously worked through our hall for Slifco, and you were laid off, we have your information. We will be reaching out to you as soon as the job calls for Slifco start coming in again and we are able to send you back out to work. In the meantime, if another contractor has a project come up and needs CWs, we will be sending people back out to work following the union dispatch procedures. Be on the lookout for a phone call.

Slifco Electric will be having more Calls for Journeymen Electricians soon at the Toyota Battery Facility in Liberty, NC ONCE THE NEXT PHASE OF THE PROJECT BEGINS.

The large influx of Journeymen that took calls are being placed throughout the project now.

6/10s - 8 regular and 2 overtime Monday through Friday. Saturday is time and a half.

$37.80 per hour for Journeymen.

CWs, CEs and Apprentices are paid their percentage of the $37.80 rate, but remain at the $100 a day Incentive.

$9.30 Family Healthcare Per Hour (Company Paid) (Journeymen).

$0.59 per hour goes to a Health Savings Account if you are a part of the Family Medical Care Plan!

11% Pension (Company Paid).

3% Annuity (Company Paid) NEBF.

$150 per day Incentive for being on-time and working throughout the day!

THE TOTAL (WAGES - NOT BENEFITS) FOR A WEEKS' WORK IS $3546.00. MULTIPLY BY 52 WEEKS = $184,392.00

OSHA 10 or 30 Construction is REQUIRED to be accepted on this project! This is non-negotiable.

If you are a Journeyman Wireman and you are trying to get on our books to go to work through our hall, please follow these steps:

1. Download the UnionWorx App on your SmartPhone. You can also access UnionWorx on your laptop/computer using the following link: https://ibew342.unionworx.cloud/.

2. Scroll down and find "Local 342," tap/click, and, on the bottom left corner, click "register."

3. Input your information, including your personal contact information and your Card/Ticket #, and submit.

4. Reach out to your Local Union hall and ask for them to fax us a travel letter/letter of introduction.

5. Job calls are posted at 3pm ON UNION WORX when they become available. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE JOB DESCRIPTION BEFORE PLACING A BID.

6. Place a bid using the UnionWorx App or online. You will be notified via email at 7am the next day with further instructions.
